Last weekend was the final weekend of Koos’s bushcraft year-long course. Those are always wonderful weekends: sleeping outdoors, cooking over a wood fire, making rope, knitting fishing nets, foraging for edible plants, quiet moments to unwind, and long evenings by the campfire. During the campfire, questions were asked and discussed regarding the how and why of our trip to Sweden.

In February, it snowed and snowed. We put winter tires with studs on the car because otherwise we were afraid we wouldn't be able to get out of here at home. It was -15 degrees Celsius at night, -3 degrees Celsius during the day. No weather for gardening. We did start on our guest house, which we call "hot house" at home. We actually came up with "Vila," because that also means "peace" in Swedish, but that name hasn't caught on, and the pun doesn't resonate with our Swedish neighbors either. Well, a hot house shower. We're going to set those up quite differently, so you can really enjoy your stay. First, a lot of boat work, and then properly build it up.

A lot happened last week, and there's still a lot more to do in the coming weeks! We moved, and with the help of Anton, Nico, and Rien, we unloaded the moving van in Sweden and made a good start on furnishing our new home.
