Longer stays

Longer stays can be enjoyed on your own, with your family or group or friends, as a small mini-vacation. A few days away, doing things you normally don't do, enjoying the basis of life, out of your mind. Pun intended. Some might say mindfull, we believe the mind is overrated.

A longer stay is ideal to retreat and come back to your true self. We love to guide you with meaningful coaching, you can read more about that here.

Östanböke participation

Ostanboke mee-maken

Duration: Indetermined

Cost: Room and board, see 'Read more'

Suitable for: Everyone.

Accommodation: Stuga (cabin), tent, tarp, hammock, attick, anything.

Everyone is warmly welcome to experience Östanböke. We think it is wonderful to share our place and connect people with our place. And what works better than helping out and working together to make it even more beautiful?

We have a Stuga (cabin), furnished for two people. We have a substantial piece of land where we can pitch a tent or where you may pitch your own. We have plenty of camping equipment, which we will happily set up for you in various arrangements.

We expect a good mood, and we expect you to eat with us at least once a day. We do not ask for compensation, but we do ask that you stay for at least a week and actively help with all kinds of chores. We will discuss together what you are good at and what you would like to do. We are used to working long days, but at a relaxed pace and with long breaks. We always do something on the weekends too, but we take it easier, or we do very little, or we work on a nice little project that we otherwise wouldn't get around to.

Of course, you can also stay with us for less than a week. However, our experience is that staying for less than a week is less effective and does cost us extra time. Therefore, in that case, we do ask for a fee for the following:

  • Room and board: 250 SEK per person per day

On top, if used:

  • Stuga: 650 SEK per night
  • Large 6-person tent with camping equipment: 450 SEK per night
  • Small tent with tarp and some equipment: 250 SEK per night

Coffee, thee, water and everything else on the menu is included. We are not a campground, when you're visiting us you're welcome to participate in everything: Assisting in the vegetable garden, feeding the animals, repairing the roof, chopping wood, painting, mowing the lawn, there is always something to do!

Of course we can entertain fun workshops, but please bear in mind we don't have the capacity to run workshops day after day. We'll do all this in good agreement.

Tanning

Leerlooien

Duration: 3 Days, 10AM Day 1 - 4PM Day 3

Cost: 2500 SEK pp, minimum 4 persons

Suitable for: 16 and up, some strength and stamina required.

Max. participants: 8

Buckskin is the most fine leather there is, and what's more satisfying to make it yourself. At the same time it's a laborious process, only do-able with good weather, and to process a hide to buckskin takes at least 3 days. The bucksin you'll take home after this workshop is not large enough to make a pair of trousers, perhaps some undergarment. The fun and satisfaction in this workshop is to understand the process, going through the process, appreciation for the animal and the craft, and, if succesful, a beautiful result.

Evening dinner during the workshop is obviously prepared on a campfire, which adds to the ambience during the evening. So next to tanning different activities can be done, in which you can of course participate, if you feel like it and you have the time.

A week of Bushcraft

Ostanboke mee-maken

Duration: 1 Week

Cost: 7500 SEK pp, minimum 4 personen

Suitable for: Almost everyone.

Max. participants: 8

Join us and take on the challenge! A week of learning and practicing bushcraft. We'll make shelters, tan leather, build fires and cook over wood, make clothing, forage, make all sorts of tools, and at the end of the week you'll go home with a backpack full of knowledge, experience, and homemade items.

You'll initially stay in tarps and small tents, and of course, you'll have your own shelter built. Preparing food is part of the daily routine; during the day, you'll be working hard on all sorts of crafts, and in the evenings, of course, there's a campfire.

It's an all-inclusive stay, where you and the other participants, perhaps your family or group of friends, provide for yourselves as simply as possible with everything you need. This is definitely a more than 5-star stay!
